Mine is 40" long, 12" high and 12" wide externally, so minus 1 or 2 inches internally. It can fit an MP44 (with about 3" to spare) and a PPSh, with plenty of room for ammo, masks etc. It could even probably fit another gun, as long as the gun was thin (perhaps an mp40?)

I made my boxes as long as the longest guns, as deep as the deepest guns and as wide as looked proportionate.

Yep, mine were made of similar sizes, built to take MP44 length / height and the other to fit MG42 with the butt removed.

I bough mine from B&Q - 2.5 litres of eggshell will last for ever, I've painted helmet, gas mask tin, modern ammo boxes etc. Their machine will mix RAL colours even if they don't know it! Bizarrely not BS colours though
Edit: It is RAL 6006 in eggshell oil based paint you need to ask for, not matt emulsion!

(although strictly speaking not home-made out of wood nor even WW2-ish but at least she looks well put together)

I would love to borrow a spare mag off her, only if I could personally get it out of her box

Well not as visually appealing as the last entry and not 'weapons chests' but for transportation of other equipment to the game, 2 new chests bodged out of some fencing material being thrown out from a nursing home  The rest of the wood went to my girlfriend for her woodburner.

Hopefully though should make any ingame camping look a bit more period, even though I have gone for the 'Indiana Jones' look :slap:

I should point out that the bread crate in the foreground was not made by myself but commercially available :good:-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

Heh. some more to add to the thread....

Three same-shaped boxes stacked - made from purchased unplanned timber. The markings are fairly authentic for 303 ammo, Nobel explosive and field dressings. (Brit players at Operation Ariel might recognise them as we humped 'em about as part of the game. I think we started off with 10 rounds each until we found an ammo stash!)

A-top them is a box Kermit gave me that I use for personal items - shaving, smoking, camera/film, playing cards, reading matter etc.

On the left a Brit ration crate (made from a blown-down fence and some bits of ply) that I use for tableware, cleaning materials and the potty!

On the right a crate made from an old pallet that holds six paraffin lamps along with spare paraffin etc.
